Novice semi-final

Some great emerging talent on display today.
Don McNeil and Jamie Bell fought it out in the Novice semi-final.

Jamie eventually won 25-23.

It was the same score when they played off in the Open B Singles.
Well done both players.

Jamie plays Jef Cummings in the final.

Mixed Pairs

Plenty of action in the mixed pairs today.
Jen Lipczynski and Bill Pacey were winners 24-14 over Janet Legg and Alan McCullough to progress to the finals.

Well done!
Look at Alan’s sportsmanship and Jen and Janet’s exuberance.
Beautiful to watch.
Thanks to Trevor Petersen for the action shots.

Community Open Day

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to making our Community Open Day such a resounding success.

The day exceeded all expectations, and we are truly grateful to have had the opportunity to engage with so many incredible community groups.
Together, we not only strengthened existing relationships but also forged new connections that will undoubtedly benefit our shared future.

In addition to fostering a sense of unity, the event helped raise vital funds for the club, enabling us to continue our mission and grow stronger as a community hub.

New Garden bed

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all of our dedicated volunteers and to our generous sponsor, Hutchinson Builders, for their incredible work in creating our new garden bed and establishing the exclusion zone around our magnificent forest red gum tree.

Your hard work, skill, and dedication have truly transformed this space, enhancing the beauty and safety of our grounds for everyone to enjoy.

The sense of community here at West Toowong Bowls Club is something truly special.

It’s moments like these that remind us how fortunate we are to have such passionate individuals and businesses who care deeply about the club and its future.

Bowling for Millie – Epilepsy QLD

On Sunday, the 24th of March, the West Toowong Bowls Club had the honor of hosting the 2nd Annual Bowling for Millie fundraiser, organized by Tim from Toowong Village Meats.
This special event was in support of Epilepsy Queensland, a cause close to our hearts, and we were thrilled to see such incredible community spirit on display.

The afternoon was filled with fun and laughter, as attendees enjoyed barefoot bowls, live music, dancing, and a classic BBQ.
Highlights of the day included the mega meat tray raffle, and the exciting top-prize auctions, where some extraordinary sporting memorabilia were up for grabs.
The energy and enthusiasm were contagious, creating an atmosphere of generosity and camaraderie that will be remembered dearly.

We are thrilled to announce that, as of today, we have raised an astounding $13,285.43 for Epilepsy Queensland—and that figure is still climbing as more donations continue to come in!
We’ve also just received a call from Epilepsy Queensland, who were deeply touched by the outpouring of support.
They wanted to pass along their heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this day such a huge success.

Events like Bowling for Millie remind us of the incredible impact we can have when we come together for a worthy cause.
A huge thank you to all the participants, donors, volunteers, and local businesses for your generosity and for helping make this day truly special.

Together, we’ve made a real difference, and we look forward to supporting Epilepsy Queensland again in the future.
