Q. Can I bring my own cake?
A. Everybody wants a cake to celebrate a special day and we are more than happy for individual functions to bring their own celebration cakes.
We just ask you to bring disposable plates for a quick and hassle free clean up.

Q. Can we have entertainment at our function?
A. Yes! However, some conditions do apply.
As our venue is based in a residential area, our licence stipulates that we are not permitted amplified music outside. (on the decks or by the green)
However, acoustic music is allowed and music can be played inside the club house.
Q. How much is it to rent the whole clubhouse?
A. The West Toowong Bowls Club is a Community Sporting Venue, though we can reserve verandahs, beer gardens or interior spaces especially for you and your guests, we remain open to the public during our operating hours.
We are largely populated by valued locals and regular members who pay membership fees and often volunteer their time and skills in order to be a part of and support the club.
As such we cannot deny entry to our paying members and local community for any private functions.
We invite you instead to share this space, and maybe even meet some of the wonderful community that makes our club so special.
Q. Do we need security at our function?
A. This depends on the size and nature of your group & will be at the discretion of Club Management.
All 18th and 21st birthdays will require at least one security person.
Q. Do we allow 18th/21st birthday parties?
A. Unfortunately due to a few bad experiences with 18th’s we need the host of the party to hire a qualified security person, at their own expense.
Q. Do I need to pay a booking fee?
A. Yes, This covers the cost of staffing for the event.
Q. Can I put up decorations?
A. Yes! Approved decorations are able to be used at the club.
Q. Can we BYO food or drinks?
A. No, the only food allowed is celebration cakes.
West Toowong Bowls Club is a community club that through the sale of food and beverages is able to provide the facilities for its members and guests like yourself.
