Father Daughter duo win Mixed Pairs Final


Today saw an exceptional game in the Mixed Pairs Final at West Toowong Bowls Club, where bowlers and spectators alike were treated to a dramatic showdown.
For the first time in club history, the Mixed Pairs title was claimed by a father-daughter duo, Dave and Molly Gilbert, who emerged victorious in a tightly contested match against the formidable team of Bill Pacey and Jen Lipczynski.

The match was nail-biting from start to finish, showcasing the high level of talent at West Toowong Bowls Club.

The final score was 19-17, with Dave and Molly clinching the win on the last end, a testament to their skill and determination under pressure.

Congratulations to Dave and Molly on their historic win, and a round of applause for Bill and Jen, who played an outstanding game.
Matches like these highlight the excitement and camaraderie that make West Toowong Bowls Club a top destination for community and lawn bowls enthusiasts in Brisbane.


Triumph for the New Novice Singles Champion


In an exciting match at West Toowong, Jamie Bell claimed the Novice Singles Championship title, showcasing impressive skill and determination in his game against Jef Cummings.
Jamie secured the win with a final score of 25-13, marking an outstanding performance that has earned him recognition as one of the club’s rising stars.

This victory is a significant milestone for Jamie, who has quickly made his mark here at West Toowong. Congratulations to Jamie on his well-deserved title as Novice Singles Champion, and a big commendation to Jef for his competitive play.
We’re excited to see more from Jamie as he continues to grow and excel in his lawn bowls career!


Saturday’s Competitive Bowls sees Triples Quarter Final winners


Congratulations to our club members Bill Pacey, Barrie Page, and Hilton Deeth, who have secured a spot in the Triples Semi-Final.
In a well-fought Quarter-Final match, they claimed victory against fellow members Jim Walker, Ros Walker, and Jen Lipczynski.

Bill’s strong play helped lead the team to their well-earned win, and the trio now look forward to the semi-finals.

Well done to both teams, and best of luck to Bill, Barrie, and Hilton as they continue their run in our club’s lawn bowls championship here in Brisbane’s beautiful West Toowong.


Open B Singles Champion Crowned


A big congratulations to Dave Ravlich, who claimed the title of Open B Singles Champion at West Toowong Bowls Club with a 25-13 win over Jim Walker.
Jim made a strong comeback towards the end, keeping the pressure on and making Dave work for those final points.

Both players put on a fantastic game, showcasing the competitive spirit and skill that make our in-house lawn bowls events so exciting.

It’s bittersweet, though, as we’ll be saying farewell to Dave next year as he heads West.
Best of luck to him in WA, and congratulations again on a well-deserved win!


Novice semi-final


Some great emerging talent on display today.
Don McNeil and Jamie Bell fought it out in the Novice semi-final.

Jamie eventually won 25-23.

 

It was the same score when they played off in the Open B Singles.
Well done both players.

Mixed Pairs


Plenty of action in the mixed pairs today.
Jen Lipczynski and Bill Pacey were winners 24-14 over Janet Legg and Alan McCullough to progress to the finals.

Well done!
